Bobby Lin is currently a New York City based designer, building and communicating stories in a variety of media spanning photography, video, and graphic design. He completed his MFA degree in Design & Technology at Parsons the New School for Design in 2011 with his thesis short film, Leaving Facebook, which was awarded Best Documentary at the Parsons Animation & Digital Film Festival.

Born Chien-Pai Lin, Bobby made his way from his birthplace in Taiwan all the way to Queens, New York, and then to Berkeley, California, where he attended UC Berkeley from 2000-2003 for his Bachelor of Arts degree. His undergraduate coursework consisted of interdisciplinary studies centered around Image & Representation.

Post California, Bobby decided to strike out for the Far East and reconnect with his roots in Taiwan. He spent three years in total, working in the capital city of Taipei as a translator by day and photographer by night. Upon his return to New York, Bobby joined Asian CineVision to help with marketing and design for the 32nd and 33rd Asian American International Film Festival.
